The new Cirrus 5m-5.5m RIB Tender carries on the family style of the Cirrus 6m-7m range and will be available with various engine options, including diesel/waterjet and diesel/outdrive. Engine options will include Mercruiser 120hp diesel and Volvo D3 160hp.
The Cirrus 5m-5.5m will offer a derivative of the soft riding Cirrus deep-V hull with comfortable seating for 6-8 passengers and a variety of specification options. The 5m is designed for tender applications on yachts over 80' in length. The low profile of the design will make it ideal for garage installations where headroom is at a premium. Stowage height will be approximately 1.2m.
Cirrus are working with SP Systems to develop a full carbonfibre hull and superstructure which should ensure that the Cirrus 5m achieves an all up dry weight of 500 Kgs. A conventional glassfibre version will also be available.
When purchased as a day boat, the Cirrus 5m can be easily towed and provides an unrivalled amount of space for a family and their friends. Locker space is provided under all seats and additional space can be found under the foredeck and in the engine compartment.
Prices are estimated at £30,000 ex vat for a glassfibre Cirrus 5m with a Mercruiser DL1.7 120hp Outdrive installation.
Production of the Cirrus 5m will start in 2006.
